Message from the Chairperson
March 2023
by Polly Demirjian,
ODTC Chairperson
It is with great pride and excitement that the Orange Democratic Town Committee (ODTC) launches its first monthly newsletter! We have set a very ambitious goal for ourselves in creating this newsletter, but the bottom line is that we hope to raise your awareness regarding important town issues and events, both political and social. We will strive to make information on current issues more accessible, more transparent and more understandable.
One way we plan to achieve our goal of raising awareness is to provide you with user friendly links to monthly meetings and agendas for the various town boards and commissions. This will make it easier for you to stay in the know regarding what each board and commission is working on so you can attend a meeting or contact the board or commission to weigh in on issues that are important to you. We will also invite members of different boards and commissions to submit information that we will share with you. In this issue, we are very pleased to have a column from PJ Shanley, who is on the Fred Wolfe Park Committee, and from Paul Davis, Chairperson of the Amity Board of Education.
As the municipal election season heats up, we will highlight the various Democratic candidates running for each town office so you can review their credentials and reach out to speak with them if you have questions or concerns. We will also notify you when the ODTC votes to support a platform or budget or vote.
I am so fortunate to be the chairperson at this time, leading a robust membership of dedicated and involved residents who truly care about the Town of Orange and want to make it an even better place to live, work and raise a family. Please feel free to contact me at any time should you have questions or comments. I can be reached at polly.orange2022@gmail.com.
